Lumina ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the Lumina personal style and colour analysis service ("Service").

By using Lumina, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please do not use our Service.

2. Data We Collect

Information you provide

• Colour samples: Hex colour values sampled from your photo (e.g. skin tone, hair colour, eye colour). These are numeric values only — not the photo itself.
• Style preferences: Body shape, height, style preferences, and other details you provide during the analysis flow.
• Chat messages: Messages you send to the AI stylist. These are used to generate responses and may be retained to maintain conversation context within a session.
• Contact form submissions: Name, email address, and message content if you contact us via the contact form.

Information collected automatically

• Session identifier: An anonymous session cookie is created when you first visit. This links your style profile to your browser session without requiring a name or email address.
• Usage data: Basic technical information such as browser type, operating system, pages visited, and time spent on pages, collected via standard server logs.

3. Photo & Image Data

Your photos are never uploaded to or stored on our servers. The colour analysis process works entirely within your browser: your photo is loaded into an HTML canvas element, you sample colours by clicking on it, and only the resulting hex colour values are transmitted to our AI service.

If you use the "Yay or Nay" outfit review feature and upload a clothing image, that image is sent temporarily to our AI provider (Anthropic) for analysis and is not retained after the response is generated.

4. Cookies & Session Data

We use the following cookies:

We do not currently use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will reset your style profile and begin a new session.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Lumina:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — Colour analysis and AI stylist chat. Colour data and chat messages are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic processes this data subject to their own Privacy Policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models by default.
• Neon (PostgreSQL) — Cloud database hosting your anonymous style profile. Data is stored in the EU/US and subject to Neon's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — Hosting and deployment infrastructure. Vercel may collect standard web server logs subject to their Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

6. Advertising

Lumina may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar advertising networks. These services may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or by using the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about your session.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your style profile. You can also clear your browser cookies to immediately disassociate from your session.
• Correction: Update any inaccurate style information by re-running the analysis.
• Portability: Request your style profile data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to the processing of your data for certain purposes.

8. Data Retention

Your style profile is retained for 12 months from the date of last activity. After this period, inactive profiles are automatically deleted from our database. You can request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.

9. Children's Privacy

Lumina is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Lumina after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
